Week 5

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

Thursday 5th July was the second last treatment in my Pro-Peel package and it’s quite saddening to think that I only have one treatment left before I finish the course of six treatments! Rachel gave me my treatment this week and upon my arrival on Thursday I couldn’t wait to tell her that for the first time in months, I didn’t wear any makeup to work! It was such an exciting message to convey and the team’s excitement made it even more enjoyable. It’s amazing to frequent an establishment where the team are so genuine and helpful; it was sensational to finally be able to deliver them some good news!

Today’s treatment was a Prozyme treatment followed by extractions and then an Enzyme mask. After five weeks it still amazes me how well the treatments work and the notable results you can see almost immediately after the conclusion of a treatment (you DO need to wait for the red lines to fade after your Enzyme but it doesn’t take long). It fascinates me that I can feel the blood pumping, my skin tingling pleasantly and can see my skin improving dramatically but haven’t had to resort to extreme measures… Seriously, before being the lucky winner of this treatment I was so desperate I’d contemplated all kinds of extremities to try and ‘fix’ my skin! Who’d have thought that so much could be achieved with using such beautiful products.

DMK cosmetics are described as “paramedical” and after five weeks of notable results I completely agree with the statement. The products aren’t abrasive and don’t damage the skin at all yet you can feel them working hard to encourage your skin to be the best it can be. Washing my face used to be such a chore that would often sting uncomfortably or feel like it was stripping my face with harsh chemicals but now I actually look forward to washing my face every morning and night and using my DMK products!

Week 4

Wednesday, June 27, 2012
Now we’re on the downward slope in my treatments and this week was the fourth in the course of six. It’s amazing to think of how much my skin has improved in just a month and how much more confident and happy I feel in my own skin! Your skin is the largest organ your body has and my skin is transforming and improving at a level of which I could only dream!

This week's treatment was almost exactly the same as my very first but it definitely had a different feel and different results! It started with an application of Sebum Soak to my face followed by some glad wrap and hot towels similar to a Prozyme treatment. Ellen explained that this soften my pores so that when she completed the extractions they came out easier! Speaking of extractions; this week there were hardly any because my skin has become so much clearer! What took Ellen a while on my first visit took only a few minutes this week; it was awesome! After this Quick Peel 2 was applied again and boy was my skin red! I could really feel the mask working this week and the warming sensation was definitely intensified this week! After this was an Enzyme mask which again, really felt like it was working and I’ve deduced that the more veins I can see the merrier!

My skin has had some ups and downs after last week's treatment… It was a bit red and itchy for the first couple of days and has been flaky since but today when I looked in the mirror my scarring was vastly improved and my skin looked softer, smoother and a lady at work even commented that my skin was looking amazing and fresh! I almost didn’t put on makeup this morning and by the end of the six weeks I don’t think I will need to! This is such an exciting prospect for me as I haven’t felt comfortable not wearing my second skin in such a long time!

Tamara's Third Treatment

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Today marked the half-way point and third treatment in my DMK Skin Transformation! Today the lovely Rachel gave me my treatment and the experience was as enjoyable as ever! After a warm greeting it’s always lovely to be able to have a chat with the ladies in the team about more than just pampering! The team at the Sanctuary always seem to remember what’s been going on with you and it’s such a nice and refreshing environment; it feels like catching up with friends!

Today’s treatment involved a Prozyme Peel to bring up as much congestion as possible followed by one of my favourite parts of any good facial; extractions! After clearing as much as possible Rachel applied a quick Hydradermaze mask to my skin and explained that I have a lot of congestion beneath the skin and that this treatment would help to draw out as much as possible and that it would come out over the next week. It’s now Wednesday and she was right; I feel like a lot more of the underlying bumps I’ve had have come to the surface and am looking forward to tomorrow! The descriptor Rachel used for this mask was “a whole lot of ants biting your face” and she was quite accurate. As with all the DMK treatments it was great feeling the mask work it’s paramedical magic through what I can only assume was more than just the skin!

Following on from this was an Enzyme mask and this weeks’ mask felt like it was really working hard! When it was removed you could tell it had as the veins had all come to the surface and my skin was super red!

I’ve been following my homecare plan diligently and am still noticing the improvements in my skin which is amazing! I’m falling in love with my Retosin. after using the product in the evening, I can visibly notice that my skin is smoother, the tone is more even and has far fewer red spots when I wake up; it’s like magic!

Week 2

Monday, June 11, 2012

After last week's treatment my amazing consultant, Ellen, drafted my personalised home-care plan and recommended several products from the DMK portfolio to complement my in-sanctuary treatments. After using them for just one week I am already starting to notice remarkable improvements in my skin.

I've used DMK products before and already had the basics at home (Deep Pore Cleaner, Acu Cream, Herb and Mineral Mist & Trans-Dermal Sunblock) but Ellen recommended a couple of other products which would specifically help to target the problems I have been experiencing with my skin:-

Beta-Gel: Used every morning to help heal the skin and reduce the redness.

Retosin: Used at night to remove the dead skin cells and improve congestion.

Solar Damage Gel: Used to lock in moisture and improve the absorption of the other serums and cremes used.

I initially thought that the products were somewhat costly however I have totally converted to the dark side and know that I will buy them long after my six treatments have concluded. A little goes a long way with the products in the range and they have the amazing effect of being both light on the skin yet highly nourishing; it's amazing to have a cream that doesn't feel like it's clogging my already oily pores.

Today's treatment was just as amazing as the first. It started with cleansing but then was followed by a Prozyme Mask. Ellen explained that the mask was used to deeply exfoliate and warned that there might be some flaking over the next few days as the dead skin was removed (stay tuned). After the mask was applied some Glad Wrap was placed over it followed by hot towels to activate the mask and achieve the best possible desired effect. It was definitely not as interesting as the Quick Peel last week and it smelt like freshly made bread! Not to mention the amazing sensation of having my face gently massaged; it was such a relaxing experience!

Following on from this were some extractions and then another Enzyme mask but you already know what they feel like! I was lucky enough to receive a foot massage whilst my Enzyme mask was activating and it was so amazing I fell asleep!

My skin is clearer, smoother and the red blemishes are becoming fewer. The lovely ladies at the sanctuary have warned me that my skin might play up a bit this week as the exfoliation takes effect but I'm not worried as they are so knowledgable and encouraging when it comes to all things skin!

The First DMK Propeel Treatment

Tuesday, June 05, 2012

Today is Friday which makes it Day One of My DMK Transformation (or so it’s called). Last night was my very first treatment and to say I was excited was an understatement. I always love going to the sanctuary and the staff always make it a thoroughly enjoyable experience from the start, yesterday’s visit was no exception.

After we’d gotten the photograph’s, cleansing and extractions out of the way things got interesting! My treatment started with  Quick Peel number 2 (which is apparently the hotter one) which I was a little bit nervous about…  I was presented with a fan and was advised that my skin would start to feel warm and that this was the blood rushing to the surface of my skin and bringing everything to the surface. It was a little warm and my consultant brought in a mirror to show me how my skin was going and it was quite pink and red; it was amazing! After that an Enzyme mask was applied and stayed on for 45 minutes. I love how my skin feels when having an enzyme mask; it really gets the blood pumping and makes the skin pulsate! After taking the mask off it is always fun to see how many pink lines have come up because you really know the treatment has worked.

After my visit yesterday my skin felt amazing! It was so soft, somewhat smoother, had a lot less redness and according to my boyfriend it ‘smelt amazing’. I left the sanctuary with my little bag of homecare products eager to start using them so I could watch my skin improve even more! I know that beautiful skin doesn’t happen overnight but considering the difference just one treatment has made I can’t wait to see how my skin glows at the end of the journey!
