Permanent Hair Removal with Apilus Electrolysis

At Cronulla Skin Sanctuary, we offer the gold standard in permanent hair removal using the latest Apilus electrolysis technology.

If you’re tired of constant shaving, waxing, or hair that keeps coming back—electrolysis is the only method that permanently destroys the hair follicle.

With our advanced Apilus device, treatments are now faster, more precise, and significantly more comfortable than traditional electrolysis.

What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is a clinically proven method of permanent hair removal. A very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle, delivering a controlled current that safely destroys the follicle’s ability to produce hair.

Unlike laser hair removal, electrolysis works on:

  • All hair colours (including blonde, grey, red)

  • All skin types

  • Small, stubborn or hormonal areas

Once a follicle is treated effectively, that hair will not grow back

Why We Use Apilus Technology

Our Apilus system uses ultra-fast frequency (27.12 MHz) technology to deliver results with greater comfort and efficiency.

Benefits for you:

  • Ultra-fast treatment speed (fractions of a second per hair)

  • More comfortable experience compared to traditional electrolysis

  • Highly precise targeting of each follicle

  • Suitable for delicate areas (face, bikini, underarms, etc.)

  • Ideal for sensitive skin

This means less time, less discomfort, and better long-term results.

We offer electrolysis for:

FAQs

How many sessions will I need to see permanent results?

Electrolysis is a progressive treatment, and the total number of sessions required varies for everyone. Treatment area, hair density and thickness, hormonal influences and individual hair growth patterns all affect the overall timeline. Regular sessions are required initially, with treatments spacing out as hair reduces.

Does electrolysis hurt? Is it safe?

Electrolysis is generally safe and suitable for all skin types. It can cause a brief sensation often described as a quick sting, warmth or prickling feeling, but topical numbing creams can be used where appropriate.

Can electrolysis also treat other skin issues (not just hair)?

Yes, it can be performed to address certain skin irregularities like broken capillaries and spider veins and conditions such as sebaceous hyperplasia. Get in touch with us to arrange a consultation so we can review your concerns and advise on the right treatment options.

Are there any risks or side effects?

It’s normal to experience redness, slight swelling or sensitivity immediately after treatment. These responses are a normal part of the skin’s healing process and typically settle within a short period. Adhering to recommended pre- and post-care guidelines, including avoiding heat, sun exposure and active skincare products, helps minimise side effects and supports optimal healing.

How long does each electrolysis session take?

It depends on the treatment area and the concern being addressed. Sessions may be as short as 10 minutes for small, targeted areas to over an hour for more extensive treatments.

How should I prepare for an electrolysis appointment?

Ensure the treatment area is clean and free from makeup, skincare products or oils. Avoid active ingredients, exfoliants and professional skin treatments for at least 24 hours prior, and minimise sun exposure or tanning to reduce skin sensitivity. For hair removal treatments, avoid tweezing, waxing or plucking in the weeks before your appointment, as visible hair growth (approximately 1 to 3 mm) is required for optimal results.

How do I know if electrolysis is right for me?

The first step is to schedule a consultation in our clinic. Our practitioner will assess your skin type, medical history, hair characteristics and treatment goals. Based on this assessment, we will determine whether electrolysis in Sydney is the best choice for you and recommend complementary treatments and products where appropriate.
