Aftercare
The treatment is half the story.
What you do in the days after a treatment decides how well it lands. These are the general rules that protect your results. One thing outranks everything on this page: the specific instructions your therapist gave you on the day. When they differ, theirs win, every time.
The golden rules
Six rules that protect every result.
Whatever you had done, these hold.
SPF, every single morning
Freshly treated skin is more sun-sensitive. Sunscreen daily, and keep direct sun off treated areas while they settle.
Hands off
No picking, scratching or peeling at anything. Skin that is flaking or settling is mid-process; let it finish.
Keep it gentle
Mild cleanser, hydration and nothing abrasive until your therapist clears your usual actives again.
Skip the heat
Hot showers, saunas, pools and hard workouts can aggravate freshly treated skin. Ease back in as advised.
Follow your sheet
The instructions given at your appointment are written for your treatment and your skin. They override this page.
When in doubt, call
If anything feels wrong or you are just not sure, call the clinic on 0423 923 561. That is what it is there for.
By treatment
Find your treatment.
Open the treatment you had for its general aftercare notes. Your therapist's specific instructions always come first.
Laser, IPL and light treatments
Expect warmth and mild redness at first, like a light sunburn feeling that settles. Keep the area cool and moisturised, avoid direct sun and use SPF religiously, and skip heat, chlorine and hard exercise until the skin calms. Pigment spots may darken before they lift; leave them alone. The same rules hold across the laser and light range, IPL and LED included.
Peels and advanced facials
Your skin is renewing, so keep it simple: gentle cleanser, hydration and SPF. Hold your actives, exfoliants and retinoids until your therapist clears them. Some light flaking can be normal after Lira smart peels and DMK Enzyme Therapy; do not pick or peel it, and let makeup wait as advised.
Skin needling
Redness for the first day or so is the treatment working. Keep the skin clean and hydrated, stay out of the sun, avoid makeup, actives and sweaty exercise for the window your therapist gives you, and never pick at any dryness that follows. How the treatment itself works lives on the skin needling page.
Waxing, electrolysis and hair removal
Keep the area clean and cool. For the first day or two avoid heat, tight clothing on the area, chlorine, active tanning and heavy exercise, and skip exfoliating until the skin settles. A little redness or spotting after electrolysis is normal and short-lived. The same care applies across waxing and every hair removal treatment.
Skin tightening and body treatments
Drink plenty of water, keep the area comfortable, and expect any warmth or tenderness to settle quickly. Your therapist will tell you if anything needs avoiding after your body or wellness treatment; otherwise your normal routine usually continues.
Tattoo removal
Treat the area like a healing wound: clean, dry and protected. No picking at any frosting, blistering or scabbing, keep it out of the sun and pools, and follow your dressing instructions exactly. Call the clinic if anything concerns you between laser tattoo removal sessions.
Lash and brow treatments
Keep the area dry and steam-free for the first day after lash and brow treatments, skip oil-based products around the eyes, and resist rubbing. Tints and lifts settle into their true look within a couple of days.
