The treatment

What is Pico Tattoo Removal?

Pico laser tattoo removal uses the most advanced picosecond technology to break down tattoo ink and let your body clear it, working across all tattoo colours.

Our device runs a consistent 300ps pulse at every wavelength, the shortest pulse duration available and shorter than other Pico devices at 450ps and 750ps. That ultra-short pulse shatters ink mechanically instead of heating the skin, which can mean better clearance, less discomfort and less risk to the surrounding tissue.

We treat decorative, cosmetic, traumatic and surgical tattoos, and remove radiotherapy markers free of charge. Every treatment starts with a consultation so we can assess your tattoo and give you an accurate plan and price.

What it helps with

Made for the concern you came in with.

Concerns it targets

This is for you if

  • Professional and amateur decorative tattoos, in all colours
  • Fading a tattoo ready for a cover-up
  • Cosmetic tattoos: eyebrow tattooing or feathering, eyeliner, lip liner and lip colour
  • Traumatic tattoos, where debris has become embedded in the skin
  • Surgical radiotherapy markers (removed free of charge)

Not sure which applies to you? A skin consultation maps it to a plan.

How it works

How your treatment works.

Tattoos are made by placing ink particles into the dermis, where they stay locked in place. Laser removal works by breaking those particles down so your body can clear them.

Our Pico laser delivers pulses just 300 picoseconds long, far shorter than standard Pico devices at 450ps or 750ps. That speed shatters the ink mechanically (a photoacoustic effect) rather than heating it, which is gentler on the skin around the tattoo.

  • Picosecond pulses are around 100 times shorter than older nanosecond lasers
  • Where nanosecond lasers break ink from "rocks to gravel", picosecond speed breaks it from "rocks to sand"
  • Finer particles are cleared by the lymphatic system more easily and more completely

Three wavelengths (1064nm, 532nm and 650nm) let us treat the full range of tattoo colours.

What to expect

Downtime
Minimal. Redness and swelling can last a few days, and you'll need to protect the area from heat and sun.
Sessions
Approximately 6–8 for professional tattoos, around half that for cosmetic tattoos, spaced 8–12 weeks apart.
How to care for your skin afterwards

Been here before?

You've probably already spent money on skin that didn't change.

Real skin concerns don't respond to guesswork, or to whatever machine a clinic happens to own. They respond to the right treatment, at the right depth, in the right order. That is the difference between spending on your skin and actually solving it.

Your first appointment

The first appointment isn't a treatment.

It's ninety minutes of working out what's actually going on, what you've already tried, and what's realistic. You leave with a plan in writing covering treatment, homecare and the order to do them in.

$85Skin consultation, about 90 minutes. Virtual consultation $60.
  1. 01

    Your skin, read properly.

A full skin analysis including imaging, plus a conversation about what you've used before and how your skin reacted.

  2. 02

You get the plan in writing.

What to treat first and why, what each stage costs, and roughly how long it takes. If you do not need a treatment yet, that is the answer.

  3. 03

    You start when you're ready.

The same therapist follows your progress and adjusts the plan as your skin responds.

The plan is yours to keep whether or not you book anything on the day.

Following your aftercare closely helps your skin settle.

Good to know

Your questions, answered.

Everything worth knowing before your appointment. Still unsure which treatment suits you? A quick consultation sorts it out.

How does Pico laser tattoo removal work?

Your tattoo sits as ink particles held in the dermis, the deeper layer of your skin.

The Pico laser sends ultra-short pulses of light into those particles, shattering them mechanically rather than by heat. The fragments are broken down small enough for your lymphatic system to carry them away and clear them from the body over the following weeks.

How many tattoo removal treatments will I need?

It depends on how much ink is in your skin and how deeply it sits.

  • Professional tattoos usually take around 6–8 treatments
  • Cosmetic tattoos (permanent makeup) can often be cleared in about half that

You'll get a realistic estimate for your tattoo at your consultation.

How far apart are the treatments?

We usually space treatments 8–12 weeks apart, which gives your lymphatic system time to break down and clear the ink between visits.

If your tattoo is new, we recommend waiting at least 12 weeks after it was done, so the ink has settled before removal begins.

Does it work on coloured tattoos?

Yes. Our device uses three wavelengths (1064nm, 532nm and 650nm), which lets us target tattoos across all colours, not just black. Different inks respond to different wavelengths, so having all three available means more of your tattoo can be treated effectively.

How do I book an appointment?

Book online any time, or call the clinic during opening hours. New to a treatment? A short skin consultation is the best place to start.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Zip is available at checkout, so you can pay over time, and our skin memberships spread the cost of a course. Packages can be used up to 12 months later.

Will I need a consultation first?

For most advanced treatments, yes. A consultation checks your skin and history so your plan is safe, and it counts toward your treatment. Browse all treatments or ask us which suits you.

Where are you and is there parking?

You will find the clinic in the heart of Cronulla, with street parking close by. Full directions and opening hours are on our contact page.
